I spent most of today alternating between packing and taking care of a sick Claire. Of course she ended up with an ear infection two days before we fly to Florida. Poor kiddo is not feeling great and I am praying very hard that she handles the flight alright and her ear doesn't cause too many problems.
We also had Parent/Teacher Conferences for Ella tonight. I am so proud of her! She is reading above grade level and her teacher said she is becoming more outgoing in class. She is an amazing girl!
So...no photo again today. But I have a great excuse, right?

February 18th: Day 49
Claire and I did a bunch of errand running today and made a little visit to the Antique Mall. She was so good and such a trooper the whole time. Fun day!
Sadly, no photo today though. In my effort to be efficient, I deleted all the photos I took from today :-(

February 17th: Day 48
Winter Storm Carol has arrived, bringing yet another early release for Ella. Carol was even fierce enough to send Jeremy home from work early...a nice little perk. The girls went outside with Jeremy tonight to play while he cleared the driveway. I couldn't help but grab my camera when I saw them playing by the patio door.
The second photo is of the girls watching the Frozen video from the song "Let It Go" (which they are OBESSED with). They knew I had it on my phone and was singing along to it inside and they wanted to see it, too. I promise they didn't stand there the entire time they were outside :-)

February 15th: Day 46
A mostly lazy Saturday. I cannot wait to be in the Florida sunshine. This coldness and lack of sunshine is making me feel so tired and unmotivated.
Jeremy's parents came to visit this morning and we had lunch at a Chinese restaurant. Yummy, but not very helpful to my attempt at feeling beach ready. After they left I fell asleep for an hour and a half while Jeremy & the girls hung out in the basement.
Check out the morning static hair!

February 14th: Day 45
Happy Valentines Day!
Honestly, I can only think of one time in the now 13 years that Jeremy and I have been together that we went out to eat for Valentines Day. Until we had kids he was usually out of town on that date for work and once we had kids we were too tired to go out!
We made pizza with heart shaped pepperoni and had amazing cupcakes from Tamara's Cupcakes. I also did a scavenger hunt with the girls and Jeremy even got a present hidden from me.

February 13th: Day 44
Tonight was Family Night at Hillside, but Jeremy was gone and it was snowing so we decided to stay home. I made the treat for Ella's class party, we ate subs and sherbert and watched Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. I'd say it was still a successful family night.
February 12th: Day 43
A telemarketer called tonight and Claire grabbed the phone. She carried on quite a conversation. If only I knew what the person on the other end was saying/thinking :-)

February 9th: Day 40
Lazy Sunday. Claire's class sang the call to worship at the 10:30 service then we came home, ate lunch and took a trip to the library. I love that the girls get so excited about books! We also made Ella's valentines and the mailbox for her classroom party today.
February 7th: Day 38
Spontaneous Friday night excursion with the Brandts. We met them at the mall for dinner, played for a bit, headed over to Barnes & Noble for story and craft time (during which we laughed at difference in crafty vs non crafty people) and then back to the mall for treats and more playtime. The kids got ice cream cones. Heather and I were super excited for a visit to the Tamara's Cakes kiosk. Sadly, we had our hopes dashed when we walked to the kiosk and found out they were closed. We settled instead for some frozen yogurt. Not quite the same, but better for us I suppose.

February 6th: Day 37
I've realized that many of the daily photos are of Claire. Mostly because she is home with me all day while Ella is in school. Girls, if you ever read this, it DOES NOT mean I love one of you more than the other. I love you both the same. And we will get Ella her turn for sure...she has some fun things with school coming up.
Today Claire was playing with her lunch. Not the first time, either.

February 5th: Day 36
For the past year or two Jeremy and Claire like to play the game of "Spider on the Ceiling" that they made up.
February 4th: Day 35
This is what happens when you leave Claire alone with a room of water color paints. Look closely at her speckled face.
February 2nd: Day 33
Church this morning followed by Briauna's one year photo shoot and lounging around the house.

February 1st: Day 32
Baby Ty and big sister, Gracelyn, came back today for their sibling part of the shoot. You can see that they already have a super close bond.
Kind of last minute I asked mom to come stay with the girls so Jeremy and I could run some errands and go out today today. After Ella was done with Girl Scouts Jeremy & I took off and ran to Target and Kohls and then used our gift certificate to the Wild Truffle that Wes & Heather gave us for Christmas. This was our second time eating there and it was so delicious. I had a wild truffle pizza and Jeremy had the sweet sausage pizza. I didn't get to try Jeremy's because he pretty much inhaled it. It was so nice to be able to just sit and talk. We talked a lot about our trip we're planning to Maine in June. It's a place we've both wanted to go and decided to use the free airline tickets that Jeremy won to go there. After dinner we grocery shopped, which isn't glamorous but still much better than taking the little ladies along with us. I love date nights and I love that we have parents that are so willing to watch the girls for us so that we can have some "us" time. It's so easy to push a relationship off to the side when kids are involved so date nights are great for reconnecting and focusing on each other.

January 31st: Day 31
Visitors today! Heather, Hannah, Gage and Grandma Jump came to visit. Immediately when Hannah walked in the door she was asking for Ella but when she was told Ella was at school she went to find Claire and gave her a couple big hugs. It also sounds like she kept saying "missed you". So sweet! When Ella did get home from school she ran up to her and gave Ella lots of hugs, too. We all got in some play time and then went to Stevi B's for supper. Yum. The girls had lots of luck in the game room and Hannah even hit the jackpot once. For once we actually came home with somewhat decent prizes thanks to all of our tickets we got lucky with tonight.
I had been reading about all these amazing clearance finds that people were finding at Target, so we stopped on our way home. I wasn't disappointed...we got some GREAT deals on clothes, undies for the girls and a few other things. I love Target <3
Grandma Jump brought all 3 girls bubbles today, so we also had a big bubble blowing event.

January 30th: Day 30
Almost every weeknight the four of us sit down after dinner to work on homework. Ella usually has a reading assignment and then some math work. Claire has her speech homework, which she loves and looks forward to. We also work on their Bible verses for Sunday School. Some nights are easier and more fun than others. Tonight happened to be a pretty good night homework-wise. Notice how the girls are sitting the same exact way.
January 29th: Day 29
Back to school for both girlies today! That gave me some time to do a little exercise and catch up on some editing. After Claire got home from school she wanted to play with the Playmobil people in the baby tub filled with water. Ella joined in when she got home. If it keeps them happy, I am happy :-)
January 28th: Day 28
We knew already yesterday that there would be no school today again due to the cold. However, two days of being inside kind of drove us all a little crazy and we had to get out of the house. After I picked Ella up from Maddy's we headed over to the theater to see Frozen. Heather, Mason and Mckenna met us there and we had a great time. The movie was cute and I loved that the focus was the bond between sisters.
After supper I ran out to do some other errands and stumbled across this amazing little snack. Popcorn drizzled with chocolate and peanut butter. Yum!

January 27th: Day 27
School was cancelled for the third time this year due to the frigid temperatures. We had a pretty relaxed morning and did some crafty things. Maddy came over to play this afternoon and stayed for supper. After supper Ella went home with Maddy to have a sleepover and Claire got to hang out with Jeremy and I. We played a few games and she got to have both of us put her to bed and snuggle with her.
January 26th: Day 26
Tonight was the last night of cookie sales for Ella. She was at 189 boxes of cookies when we counted them up and the next level was 210. She made one last appeal to the grandparents and one of Jeremy's old co workers and managed to hit the next level. We made her do all of the calling and it was very fun to watch her work her sales magic over the phone.
